Prateek successfully delivered the following tutorial for AIMRC during 1-3pm on August 14 with 10+ attendees. We would like to thank Hao Van, Karuna Bhaila, Aneesh Komanduri and Vinay M.S. who attended and helped the participants directly. This is the second workshop planned by AIMRC data science core.

Title: A Guide for Open-Source Deep Learning Tools and Approaches in Bioimaging.

Description: Learn about the various tools and approaches for deep learning in bioimaging. We will go through using pretrained models in Fiji as well as train our own deep learning models in Google Colab. Topics such as classification, segmentation, and other useful processing techniques (such as denoising, translation, etc.) will be covered. The workshop will be beginner-friendly.

Workshop structure: A series of modules with each module consisting of a lecture, a demo, and an exercise. Attendees are encouraged to have a laptop/computer with internet ready so that they can practice the exercises during the workshop.

When: Aug 14, 2024, 1-3 pm

Where: JBHT 239 (in-person)

Prerequisites: It is recommended to install Fiji on your computer beforehand and familiarize yourself with running code in Google Colab. The workshop will not teach you all the theory behind deep learning, but you do not need to understand that to be able to run through our exercises or follow the lecture and demonstrations.

Sign-Up: Please sign up for the workshop here by Aug 13, 2024, 11:59 pm. This will help us adapt the workshop to better meet your needs. For more up-to-date information about the Workshop or the Data Science Core in general, please visit our GitHub page.
