Wu Received a Grant from the Chancellor’s DCIC Fund!

The proposal “Towards Fairness Aware Learning in Big Data” has been selected as one of the first 10 research grants among 75 proposals to the Chancellor’s Discovery, Creativity, Innovation and Collaboration Fund. Wu will work with sociology professor Anna Zajicek (CoPI) to  examine ways that big data, as well as predictive models built with the data, may discriminate or lead to discrimination against certain groups of people, and develop ways of preventing discrimination.
